Getting Started

Install the Ankos CLI, run your first scan, and see your cloud, identity, source-control, or Kubernetes environment mapped to PCI DSS requirements.

This section helps you go from zero to your first PCI evidence scan in under five minutes.

Where to start

What you'll need

  • Read-only credentials for at least one supported provider — an AWS profile (~/.aws/credentials or env vars, the same setup the AWS CLI uses), GCP Application Default Credentials, a GitHub org + read-only token, Okta/Entra API credentials, or a kubeconfig context. The quickstart below uses AWS; see ankos scan for the others.
  • A terminal on macOS, Linux, or Windows (WSL).
  • No signup — the CLI runs entirely on your machine.

What happens next

Once you've run your first scan you'll have a local report showing which PCI DSS requirements Ankos collected evidence for, which ones need manual review, and where to find the remediation guidance.
